A Leadership Philosophy for Thriving in a Changing World
When I returned to my alma mater, North Carolina State University, to deliver the commencement address to the graduating class, I reflected deeply on what advice might endure as graduates stepped into an uncertain and rapidly changing world.
Inspired by the spirit of the NC State Wolfpack, I shared a simple framework for leadership and life:

These four principles have guided my journey—from a young student arriving on campus with big dreams, to a scientist, professor, and eventually a leader responsible for one of the largest agricultural science enterprises in the world.
